Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that incoming freshman Zafir Williams was named the MVP of the 2017 Collision All-Star game. Former Collision All-Star players include NBA players Russell Westbrook, Jordan Hamilton, Darren Collision and Solomon Hill to name a few. Zafir scored 25 points en route to winning MVP honors.

This may be a first in the history of LMU basketball. All six incoming Lions men’s and women’s recruits has been nominated as McDonald All-American nominees. With five graduating men’s seniors, there will be plenty of opportunity for such a talented class to push for immediate playing time and an immediate impact on the court.
The incoming women’s recruits who are ranked in 50 and 53 in the top 100 recruits in America, will be joined by McDonald’s All- America Gabby Green who transferred from Cal, and 6-5 Minnesota transfer Josie Buckingham.
