Drew Buggs: Lions transfer target

Drew Buggs, a 6-foot-3, guard originally from Long Beach (Calif.), has recently entered into the NCAA transfer portal. Buggs, a graduate transfer from the University of Hawaii will be immediately eligible and has already received a lot of interest including LMU.

In an interview with on 247 sports, his former West Coast Elite AAU coach, Ryan Silver described Buggs as “a tough, hard-nosed, scrappy warrior.”

Scout.com take on Buggs is that he is the “consummate competitor and leader. Really understands his abilities and plays to them. His greatest strength is his ability to be a floor general and set his teammates up. Plays with great pace and rhythm, great court vision and ability to pass.” Buggs averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game as a junior.

Buggs would have an immediate impact for the Lions as there is very much a need for a guard to come in to bolster the back court. Buggs sounds like the perfect player to do so.

Here is an interview that Buggs had with ESPN Honolulu earlier this year.
