According to various sources, and the above picture, LMU hosted Jakob Dombek, a 6’10” 205 lb. PF from the Get Better Academy, which is located in the Czech Republic city of Prague.

Per  their website, the Get Better Academy is “a private international basketball academy located in Central Europe, Prague, which through effective training programs specializes in maximizing basketball potential of its players.  Our mission is to individually develop our players and based on their goals provide them with opportunities to either sign a professional contract or receive a full scholarship to an American University.”

Here’s a nice video about their program:

Recently one of Dombek’s teammates committed to Jacksonville State.

Dombek is a skilled player who can get up and down the court.  Coach Dunlap has long talked about running and pressing and you need to have big men that can play that style of play.  Dombek certainly looks like he fits that type of game.

Eurospects.com saw him at the Prague Invitational in December and described him as having “intriguing potential given his size and athleticism.”

As you can see in this video, he can run and dunk, handle the ball and has a nice, smooth shot out to 3-point range.  He’s #15 in the video.

Certainly Dombek will have to add some weight, but he looks like he has plenty of upside with the potential to have a terrific career at LMU.
